As many of you know, I'm awesome.

So awesome that today I started framing my basement for the ultimate kids toom / home-office experiance.

I could use my framing nailer: A Dewalt D51844 (http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/tool_detail.asp?productID=6604) but anyone can do that.

I could use my bad a$$ Dewalt Drill like we did to the old Sigma Pi house.

But no. I'm a modern man. I need the latest in bad a$$ technology.

So I purchased the latest Dewalt Impact driver (http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/tool_detail.asp?productID=17858). For what you ask? To fasten bolts?

Nope. To do rough framing. Just like my hero Holmes (http://www.holmesonhomes.com/).

That is right. I hooked up a philips bit and started framing the crap out of my basement today.

I couldn't find the new star-bit stuff and screws but regular philips worked awesome.

No stripped screws and it went fast. The device is light and powerful.

Only downside was that it was loud and kinda expensive at $279.

A pile of 2x4x10s is better than a pile of gold to me. Except in the circumstance where that pile of gold is used to but more 2x4x10s

Yes, in the pictures you see other Dewalt awesomeness. (But i don't want to brag.)

Where's your building permit?

Is that up to code?

Where are you going to put all the junk that's filling your basement after the basement is "finished"?

How many beers were consumed while you were "studding"?

How did you anchor into the floor?

Did you use a 3' section of 2x4 to act like this guy? Cause you suck if you didn't!

Haven't filed but will soon.

To the best of my knowledge. Treated on all concrete surfaces, etc. I plan to hire out the electric. Nothing is load bearing (notice the doorjambs.)

I'm waiting for a voice message to be returned from an electrical engineer I know on a specific issue. (hint, hint)

Where are you going to put all the junk that's filling your basement after the basement is "finished"?

Yeah, we had a "purge" here that would have made Stalin proud (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Purge). What you see in the left is ALL that we have left.

Vesper has been selling our junk at yard sales and on craigslist (http://chicago.craigslist.org/). Made 500 bucks too. She is even awesomer.

How many beers were consumed while you were "studding"?

Not as many as usual. But certainly more than zero.

How did you anchor into the floor?

Tapcons and a bad-a$$ hammer drill (http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/tool_detail.asp?productID=16055).

Did you use a 3' section of 2x4 to act like this guy? Cause you suck if you didn't!?

I refuse to waste lumber products. I did, however, wave a folding crair. And call out "lawler."
