The mortgage underwriter was filled yesterday. We were literally told about two hours after we were informed the company was hiring.

Jobs listings list what they want in the ideal candidate. If you can get an interview and then show them that you have the skills or the ability to quickly learn the skills needed, you can get jobs you're not "qualified" for.

Remember the worst thing they can do is tell you no...and then you'll be in the same position you started in.

I got a job a year after HS that "required" a college degree. A friend's mom helped me get the interview. They had a 3 week long orientation for everyone, regardless of their experience, so it really wasn't that hard to learn what I needed.
