About the Position: ******SPECIAL NOTE's: This position has been pre-identified for deployment overseas in support of contingency operations and is designated as Emergency-Essential. The position will be permanently assigned to the LRD Districts listed above, but with the incumbent identified as being in a deployable status for at least 4 years. The expected deployment time during this 4 years is a minimum of 12 months and maximum of 24 months. The initial targeted deployment location is Gulf Region Division (GRD), Iraq or Afghainstan Engineering Division (AED) but other assignments anywhere in the world are possible if needed to support of a military contingency operation or, other crisis overseas. Failure to deploy when designated for a contingency assignment may result in separation from federal service.

During design phase of a project, performs constructibility review of project designs and specifications to determine site compatibility and anticipated problems. During construction phases, ensures contractor compliance with contract schedules, plans, specifications, and submittals. Investigates need for contract change orders; controversies which could lead to formal claims by the contractor. Reviews contractor receipt of materials and equipment procured by contractor's purchase orders. Conducts negotiations with contractors on modification work to establish equitable prices and realistic time allowance.
