4Job Title: Systems Administrator - Sr.
Location: Champaign, IL
Duration: 6 months Contract to Hire
Job Description:
HP Unix Administration for the Sprint account, located in Champaign, Illinois.
Unix Administration and OGS meeting high-availability 24x7 standards. Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise level HP systems.
The candidate will be required to interpret and write scripts to automate tasks such as file synchronization between hosts, log rotation, etc. Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Unix system administration, with a technical focus on HPUX administrative tasks that ensure the stability of production. Candidate will be responsible for HPUX server installation/administration, performance tuning and familiar with security standards for HPUX environments.
This role is also responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues reported through all levels of system and team contact on a multitude of HPUX based servers. Candidate will be required to participate in team planning to ensure coordination of effort and facilitate execution on a plan, and will be responsible for responding to automated system checkers and alerts. This person will be required to abide by Change Control Management policies and procedures, and be required to work flexible hours, as determined by management, and will participate in on-call rotation, which includes a 24x7 basis when on-call. The candidate should have strong experience with veritas 4.x including VCS.
